Purpose

The Institute for Christian Leadership at Mississippi College exists to develop leaders by providing a variety of excellent leadership venues for students, faculty, and Christian ministry leaders in a manner suited for each student of leadership.

Events

Each year the Institute hosts speakers in conjunction with lectureships sponsored by the Department of Christian Studies. Two of those events are:

1. The Evangelism Lectures -- held on the first Monday and Tuesday in February

The ICL partnered with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (celebrating its 100th Anniversary)  in an effort to promote racial reconciliation and evangelism in the African-American culture. Dr. Chuck Kelly, President of NOBTS, and Dr. Ken Weathersby spoke in chapel. Break-out sessions followed that afternoon.

2. The Spell Lectures -- usually held on the 1st Monday and Tuesday in November

On October 31, 2017, Dr. Lloyd Harsch, Professor of Church History at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, spoke on The 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.
