Entering freshmen with a score of 29 or higher on their ACT or 1350 or higher on their SAT are considered Presidential Scholars at Mississippi College - the highest academic award within our scholarship program. Presidential Scholars are awarded $12,000 annually in a Presidential Scholarship, plus provided the opportunity to qualify for additional stackable scholarships and need-based MC Grants. See our scholarship page for a comprehensive overview of MC's scholarship opportunities.
All Presidential Scholars are also invited to participate in the Presidential Scholarship Interview Competition in the spring of their senior year. Here, a select number of Presidential Scholars will be chosen for additional scholarships based upon an interview and submission of the items listed below.
There are two interview dates to choose from. Thursday-Friday, February 1-2, and Thursday-Friday, February 8-9. A dinner will be held on the Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m., respective to your interview date, and all competing scholars and their accompanying family are required to attend. Interviews will be conducted throughout the day on the following Friday. Scholarship competitors are evaluated based upon an interview with the Admissions Committee and their submission of an essay, resume, and letters of reference. Interviews are conducted in a panel format, with 3-5 students interviewing at one time. Essays and resumes are graded by MC staff and faculty members. Scores from each area are calculated to determine the levels of additional scholarship.

These same students may also receive up to $2,000 per year, total, in stackable scholarships if the criteria is met.
*If the student is a Mississippi resident eligible for MTAG and MESG, these grants will be included within the total award for Trustee Scholars.
*Trustee Scholars cannot receive Stackable awards.
