Mississippi College’s School of Business enjoys a sterling academic reputation and another sign of its success is the recent seal of approval from a Kansas-based accreditation agency.

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs reaffirmed the national accreditation for Mississippi College’s School of Business at its June 17 meeting in Baltimore, Maryland.

MC was among 21 of the association’s member institutions gaining that honor.

The schools reaffirmed have “shown their commitment to teaching excellence,” says Douglas G. Viehland,  executive director of the group based in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City. “The ACBSP is proud to assist these schools and programs in their commitment to quality business programs.”

Up for review every ten years, accreditation is a sign that colleges are offering top-notch business programs that embrace a healthy balance between teaching and research. Founded in 1988 and working with more than 1,000 campuses in the USA and other countries, the council supports, celebrates and rewards excellence in business education.

MC School of Business Dean Marcelo Eduardo was delighted to receive the news.

“The School of Business at Mississippi College has enjoyed a tradition of academic excellence for all of its history and the reaffirmation of our national accreditation is another testament to our commitment to management education,” Eduardo said.

The MC College of Business serves 660 undergraduates and 230 graduate students at its headquarters in Self Hall on the Clinton campus.

Eduardo also thanked the School of Business faculty and staff for their hard work on the reaffirmation for the past couple of years. “It is a great accomplishment for the School of Business and Mississippi College.”
