Bethany and Justin Pigott Serve as New FCA Ministers

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes welcomes two new leaders at Mississippi College.

A former assistant baseball coach at Saint Leo University in Florida, Justin Pigott and his wife, Bethany, an FCA staffer at the school, joined MC in early September.

“I am excited about Justin and Bethany coming to minister to our coaches and athletes through FCA,” said Eric Pratt, vice president for Christian development. “As a couple they will be able to continue to influence everyone associated with the Mississippi College athletic program to walk with Jesus more closely.”

The two former Mississippi State University athletes will help MC’s FCA student leadership team plan meetings to reach out to non-Christians and disciple MC’s Christian athletes and coordinate special events to minister to the MC community, he said.

Both “will bring a great understanding of what it takes to be successful athletes, students and more importantly what it means to be followers of Christ,” Pratt said.

Justin Pigott, who was named an Eagle Scout in 2003, was co-captain of the MSU baseball team in 2008. He served as assistant baseball coach at Saint Leo University from August 2008 until June 2010. Bethany Pigott worked as a public relations/marketing student assistant at MSU where she worked with the Lady Bulldogs basketball team from August 2007 through December 2008. Bethany was an intern with a Birmingham television station. She was part of an Athletes in Action mission trip to Brazil in 2007.

The Pigotts will build upon the ministries of Bill and Mary Buckley, who spent the past two years at Mississippi College, and now work at Mississippi State where they are leading the FCA ministry in the Starkville area.
