Chad Phillips is tackling new duties at Mississippi College as the digital media and communications manager for two offices on the Clinton campus.

The Mississippi College graduate is working for the university’s Office of Institutional Advancement and the Alumni Affairs office both in Nelson Hall.

“I am excited about joining the Advancement/Alumni team,” Phillips said. “With my experience at MC and the fact that I bleed Blue and Gold, I hope to work well with the great team already in place.”

His appointment became effective June 1.

A native of Pascagoula, Phillips is the Christian university’s former admissions director and then became executive director of enrollment services. Until recently, he was teaching marketing and business communication in the Mississippi College School of Business and served as an adviser in the Accelerated Degree Program.

He’s served at his alma mater for 20 years, first breaking in as an MC admissions counselor in 1993.

In his new position, Phillips will manage websites for the Offices of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs, and design emails and newsletters for mass distribution. In addition, he will implement social media strategy, manage all digital media for the two offices, and edit the Christian university’s Foundation News.

Phillips received his bachelor’s degree in political science at Mississippi College in 1993 and a master’s in communication at MC in 1998.

Chad is married to Jenny Ware Phillips, a 1994 and 1995 MC graduate. The couple has one daughter, Gracie, who will be a 7th grader at Clinton Junior High this fall.
