Former MC BSU Director Joins Admissions Team

Mississippi College's admissions team is welcoming a familiar face and longtime friend of the Christian university: Christy Pritchard.

Married to Michael Pritchard, Christy worked eight years as the Baptist Student Union director at MC. She left the Clinton campus in 2007 to become associate director for collegiate ministries at the Mississippi Baptist Convention headquartered in Jackson.

Christy Pritchard is the Memphis area recruiter who also will be working in northwest Mississippi in search of MC student prospects. She lives in Memphis. "This is a new position for us," said Kyle Brantley, associate director of admissions. Christy went to work at MC in early June.

Better known by the Mississippi College family by her maiden name Christy Carley, she received a bachelor's degree at Mississippi State University and a master's of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Christy is a native of Sumrall, a city of a little more than 1,000 residents in Lamar County.

Her husband, Michael, is a former admissions counselor at Mississippi College.

Led by Chad Phillips, the MC office of enrollment services is busy getting ready for orientation programs for freshmen and transfer students later this summer.
