Award-winning Clinton artist Wyatt Waters collaborated with chef Robert St. John to produce “An Italian Palate,” a cookbook spotlighting Italy’s cuisine and art.

Combing their talents for the third time, both Mississippians will sign copies of the book at Mississippi College’s 2013 Homecoming. The event is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday October 26 at MC’s Leland Speed Library.

The 164-page cookbook features 128 watercolor paintings by Wyatt, a Mississippi College alumnus.

The book is filled with recipes and travel excerpts from their 2011 journey to Italy. Waters spent ten days in Venice and later joined St. John in Tuscany.

St. John is a Hattiesburg restaurateur and food columnist. St. John and Waters earlier teamed up to produce “A Southern Palate,” a cookbook that focuses on the region’s food and art.

St. John didn’t just learn about fine Italian cooking during his trip to the southern European country. He opened the Italian concept restaurant Tabella.

Copies of “An Italian Palate” can also be purchased at the Wyatt Waters Gallery in Old Towne Clinton.

The event in the Leland Speed Library lobby is free and open to the public.
