MC Coffee to Go!

Mississippi College coffee lovers will have to wait a little longer to get their first cup of java at the Leland Speed Library.

It's not just coffee that students, faculty and staff will be drinking. Bottled water and juices, Smoothies, muffins, scones and cookies will also be on the menu at the MC library cafe.

Mike Prince, the general manager for food service at Sodexo, expects the new library cafe will be open for business in early September.

Earlier, MC supporters predicted the new library cafe would be open in late August. Classes begin for thousands of Mississippi College students on Aug. 26.

Coffee drinkers still have other options on the Clinton campus. There's Jazzmans and the MC cafeteria in the B.C. Rogers Student Center for those who love coffee in the morning or even late afternoons.

The space for the new MC cafe is very limited. It will basically be a to-go service, Prince said. But he noted will be comfortable seats and a few couches in other parts of the MC library. The facility along College Avenue is undergoing extensive renovations this summer, including new floor tiling and carpeting plus new coats of paint.
