MC Hosts Youth Soccer Camp

MC men's soccer coach Kevin Johns is a winner who knows his sport.

Johns is the man for the job as he leads a soccer camp for boys and girls on the Clinton campus July 13-17. The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. until noon each day.

Starting his 7th season at MC, Johns is a former Belhaven College soccer player. At Mississippi College the past six seasons, the MC men's soccer team has compiled a stellar record of 38 wins, 14 losses and 7 ties. Johns is considered among the very best coaches in the American Southwest Conference. He sports the best coaching record in MC Choctaws soccer history.

The five-day camp is designed for Mississippi youngsters between the ages of 5 and 16. It would be a good way for children of MC faculty and staff to spend part of their summer and hone their soccer skills before the season starts this fall.

Assistant men's soccer coach James Gledhill will team with Johns to run MC's soccer camp. The cost to the public is $125, but there is a discount provided to MC faculty and staff.
