MC Spring Preview Day March 28

Prospective students can take notes in a Mississippi College class, meet professors and get the latest information on MC scholarships.

It's all part of MC's Spring 2009 Preview Day on Saturday March 28 on the Clinton campus. High schools students and college transfers can also hear remarks from President Lee Royce, chat with MC student leaders and grab lunch in the campus cafeteria.

Typically hundreds of potential MC students and family members make the trip to fall and spring preview days each year in the B.C. Rogers Student Center. Events begin with an 8 a.m. registration and continental breakfast. Campus tours of MC and sessions with admissions counselors are also on the agenda. The events should wrap up by noon.

There are other activities happening on campus on March 28. The MC Lady Choctaws softball team plays DePauw University of Indiana in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.

With nearly 4,900 students, MC offers more than 80 areas of study, 14 graduate programs, a law school in downtown Jackson and doctorate in educational leadership.

There are two other major events for prospective MC students in February.

There is a 90-minute reception for prospective students and their families in the Birmingham area on Feb. 17 at the Old Overton Country Club at 7 p.m. A Delta area reception is set for Feb. 24 at the Alluvian hotel in downtown Greenwood beginning at 7 p.m. MC faculty and staff will be on hand to share information about the Baptist-affiliated school, Mississippi's largest private university.
