MC Symphonic Winds Performs Feb. 24

Mississippi College music lovers can enjoy the sounds of John Phillip Sousa's "Liberty Bell March" and other selections during an MC Symphonic Winds concert Feb. 24.

The Tuesday event begins at 7:30 p.m. in Swor Auditorium. The program on the Clinton campus is free and open to the public.

The group is led by music professor Craig S. Young, director of bands at MC for more than a decade.

Other selections include PDQ Bach's "Octoot Suite" and a piece dubbed "Snakes."

The ensemble group will also perform English composer's John Ireland's work "Downland Suite."

The 40-member MC Symphonic Winds band includes students from Mississippi, Tennessee, Wyoming, Texas, Alabama, North Carolina, Louisiana, Georgia and Taiwan.
