MC To Host Part-time Job Fair

Mississippi College students will get the opportunity to meet with nearly a dozen area employers when MC's Office of Career Services hosts a Part-Time Job Fair on Sept. 3.

Representatives from such companies as Regions, Trustmark, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi, Brown Bottling Company, UPS and the YMCA- Metro Jackson are expected to attend the event at the B.C. Rogers Student Center. The three-hour job fair begins at 11 a.m. in the MC cafeteria.

This is the first time MC has hosted a part-time job fair. The event is geared to reach students who want to make extra money while in school, said Karen Lindsey-Lloyd, the MC career services coordinator. She expects MC will host a similar event in the spring. The event is free.

Thousands of MC students return for fall semester classes beginning Aug. 27.

The MC career services office is also gearing up for its bigger Career Day on Feb. 19, 2009. That's the day at the B.C. Rogers Student Center when more than 70 Mississippi employers will flock to the Clinton campus. They will be on hand to conduct job interviews as they look to hire MC seniors and graduate students on track to graduate in May 2009.
