Mississippi Braves Host Mississippi College Night April 20

Mississippi Braves baseball fans will join an outstanding lineup of Mississippi College supporters at MC Night April 20.

The third annual MC Night at Trustmark Park will bring together the university's leaders, alumni, students and school employees for a fun-filled Tuesday evening.

The M-Braves will take on the Mobile Bay Bears during one of the first homestands of the 2010 season at the ballpark in Pearl. It also will coincide with Mississippi Army National Guard Night.

At the second annual MC Night, 2009 Miss MC Pageant winner Jessica Terrill of Fulton tossed the ceremonial first pitch. The university's singing ensemble Mixed Company performed the National Anthem. Members of some of MC's athletic teams and the university's cheerleaders were also on hand.

MC people showing a university ID will receive a 50 percent ticket discount. The game begins at 7:05 p.m., but school supporters are encouraged to get there early to catch the pre-game festivities.

The Southern League team of the Atlanta Braves, the Mississippi Braves open their 2010 season at home against West Tennessee on April 8. A fireworks show is booked that evening.

Veteran M-Braves manager Phillip Wellman is back for his fourth consecutive season at the helm. But the M-Braves will features many new faces on their roster this spring.
