Mixed Company Presents 2012 Holiday Showcase


Mississippi College’s Mixed Company will headline the 2012 Holiday Showcase on the Clinton campus.

The evening programs on November 16-17 begin with a delicious buffet catered by Campus Dining followed by Mixed Company’s joyful set of holiday season favorites.

The vocal jazz group is a select ensemble from the MC Singers under the direction of music professor Carol Joy Sparkman.

Students in the group include Frank Turner and Christian Scott, both of Jackson, Kayla Fuentes of Starkville, Alphonso Seals of McComb and Yasmin Bradshaw of Clinton.

Mixed Company will be joined on stage in Anderson Hall both nights by 32 children from Clinton and nearby communities. The showcase begins at 6:30 p.m.

Music lovers don’t want to miss another upcoming fall concert at Mississippi College. The MC Jazz Band concert is set for November 13 at the Jean Pittman Williams Recital Hall. The event is free, open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m. Music professor Craig Young directs the Jazz Band.

The 12-piece band will perform jazz classics, Latin, and the blues. The group includes MC students Matt Little of Clinton who plays trombone, and features Allison Forst on saxophone and Warren Ertle on piano. Allison and Warren are both Terry residents.
