Looking for that perfect Christmas gift?

On sale at Mississippi College from December 1-5, shoppers can purchase scores of wonderful ornaments to decorate their Christmas trees this holiday season.

Mississippi College art students recently crafted more than 100 ornaments that will be sold to the MC family and the public at the university’s cafeteria.

Proceeds from the early December sale on the Clinton campus will help MC students attend the National Art Education Association’s annual meeting in New Orleans March 26-28. Sessions at the New Orleans Convention Center will allow students to sample the 1,000 workshops and panel discussion groups featuring nationally recognized visual arts educators.

Whether the creative ornaments feature Mississippi College logos, crosses or images of the Magnolia State, MC art students worked hard to make this sale even better than last year’s event.

Ornaments along with ceramics pieces that can be used as magnets, and impressive $10 linoleum prints are among the major items up for grabs, says art education professor Stephanie Busbea.

“The prints are very nice in mats and ready for framing,” Busbea says. “We raised about $300 from the sale last year and are hoping for $500 this year.”

Sale hours for shoppers are 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5-7 p.m. each day.
