Pastor Rob Futral Delivers Evangelism Lectures at Mississippi College

Dr. Rob Futral

Rob Futral, senior pastor at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison, will deliver the Evangelism Lectures at Mississippi College.

The annual series February 2-3 is sponsored by the MC Department of Christian Studies and Philosophy.

Passionately pursuing God’s vision for life is the vision statement of the church that Rob leads. The words communicate a good way to summarize Futral’s life’s goals. The Mississippian believes deeply in the life-changing and on-going difference that a relationship with God makes in one’s life.

A Mississippi College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies, Futral has served as pastor at the Madison church on Highland Colony Parkway since September 2003.

The Evangelism lectures begin 6 p.m. Monday February 2 in Anderson Hall East at the B.C. Rogers Student Center. In addition, he will speak to hundreds of MC students during chapel at First Baptist Church Clinton at 11 a.m. on February 3. He also lectures on the Clinton campus at 1:30 p.m. that Tuesday following a luncheon.

The MC lectures are free and open to the public. A number of area church leaders are expected to attend the programs.

Burn Page, chairman of the Department of Christian Studies and Philosophy, is delighted to welcome Futral back to his alma mater.

The son of longtime Mississippi Baptist leader Jim Futral, Rob has been actively involved in a multitude of international missions in Mexico, England, Russia, Honduras, Canada, the Ukraine, East Asia, Haiti and other lands.

A native of Texas, Futral earned a master of divinity with Biblical Languages and a doctorate in New Testament and Greek, with both degrees coming from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His father, executive director-treasurer of the Mississippi Baptist Convention, served as pastor of Broadmoor Baptist Church beginning in 1985.

Rob Futral and his wife, Kimandria, are the parents of three children, Trea, Ridge and Rivers.

In 1985, Futral wrote his first book, “The Greatest Week in History,” a study of Luke’s account of the Passion Week. In 2010, Rob was honored as the recipient of the Young Alumnus of the Year Award from Mississippi College.
