School of Business Welcomes Entergy Mississippi President

Haley Fisackerly, the president and chief executive officer of Entergy Mississippi, will speak at the Mississippi College School of Business.

His November 19 speech is part of the school's executive speaker series that brings prominent business leaders to the Clinton campus.

A Columbus native who joined Entergy in 1995, Fisackerly will speak to MC business students and faculty at 11 a.m. on that Thursday in the Ed Trehern Lecture Hall housed in Self Hall.

Before joining Entergy, Fisackerly was active in politics. He served for several years on the staff of U.S. Thad Cochran. He managed Cochran's Washington office and worked with the Republican senator from Mississippi on economic development projects and legislative issues related to energy, the environment and interior appropriations.

Serving various leadership roles at Entergy over the last 14 years, Fisackerly returned to the utility company after a year at Entergy Nuclear where he served as vice president of governmental and regulatory affairs.

Entergy Mississippi was in the news this week. Entergy Mississippi customers will likely see their electric bills drop again, WAPT-TV 16 News reported. This time the decrease will be about 11 percent from January through March, as compared to the same period in 2009.

The company recently submitted its routine quarterly field adjustment to the staff of the Mississippi Public Service Commission.

If approved, customers' bills will be the lowest in more than six years, Entergy officials said.

"We're pleased that our customers will benefit from lower natural gas prices," Fisackerly said.

Fisackerly received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mississippi State University and a master's in public administration from George Washington University.

In early October, Greenwood native David Abney, the chief operating officer at United Parcel Service, spoke to the MC School of Business as part of its executive lecture series.
