Research, Instructional Services, and Circulation Librarian - School of Law

Mississippi College School of Law is accepting applications for the position of Research, Instructional Services, and Circulation Librarian. The Research, Instructional Services, and Circulation Librarian shares responsibility for delivery of services to faculty, students, and other patrons. This includes providing reference desk services. This position is responsible for supervising the circulation and shelving tasks of the library including supervision of library student workers and circulation staff. This position is responsible for handling the Law Library’s Interlibrary Loan duties. This position is responsible for continuation and possible growth of the Mississippi College Judicial Data Project and the Mississippi Legislative History Project. This position assists with maintaining the Law Library’s Web site and the institutional repository, and creating content for library resources such as the library’s blog, Facebook page and Twitter page. Classroom teaching in the Legal Research program is required. Performs other duties as required or assigned.This position reports to the Director of the Law Library.

Qualifications:

  • Required:J.D. or M.L.S. from accredited program
  • Strong service orientation and good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • A demonstrated competence with traditional and electronic legal research tools and legal databases
  • Preferred: Experience in an academic law library, familiarity with Internet sources, teaching experience and familiarity with automated library systems. Experience with Sierra ILS is preferable.
