Dean - MC School of Law

Mississippi College invites applications and nominations for the position of dean of the School of Law. The dean must enthusiastically embrace the university’s historic mission and possess the personal qualities to inspire the faculty, students, and alumni to advance the academic program and reputation of MC Law.

MC Law’s new dean should hold the Doctor of Jurisprudence from an accredited law school, have a record of outstanding scholarly or other professional accomplishments commensurate with appointment to the rank of professor, and have practiced law. Candidates should demonstrate the capacity to lead a program of legal education, cultivate external funding, and in keeping with the mission of Mississippi College, be a committed Christian and a person of integrity.

The Mississippi College School of Law is one of seven schools within the university known as Mississippi College. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Juris Doctor degree and the LLM. Located in Jackson, MC Law is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools and the International Association of Law Schools.

Founded in 1826, Mississippi College is a private, comprehensive, Christian university affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention. Mississippi College seeks faculty and staff who are committed Christians and whose Christian principles are exemplified in daily living. MC offers over 80 undergraduate majors, over 50 graduate programs, and has an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students. The campus is located in Clinton, MS which is about 10 miles west of the capital city of Jackson.
