Instructor/Assistant Professor - Department of Engineering, Computer Science, and Physics

Mississippi College invites applications for an Instructor or tenure-track Assistant Professor position in our undergraduate Physics program. The position has a preferred starting date of January 2023, although applications will also be accepted for a starting date of August 2023.

Candidates must possess at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in the field of physics with the background necessary to teach undergraduate-level courses such as Trigonometry-based and Calculus-based Introductory Physics and some combination of the following: Modern Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Classical Mechanics, Optics, Engineering Mechanics, and Engineering Thermodynamics. Faculty members are expected to be exceptional instructors, provide quality advising to students, and possess an appreciation for the mission of Mississippi College.

Founded in 1826, Mississippi College is a private, comprehensive, Christian university affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention. The campus is located in Clinton, MS which is about 10 miles west of the capital city of Jackson.
