Sellers’ Responsibility
University departments, student or alumni groups, or entities having academic or business relationships with the university, or faculty/staff/students/alumni organizations selling items bearing the Mississippi College name or marks for fundraising or other purposes must acquire such items from a licensed supplier or be licensed if they are self-producing the items or using a non-licensed supplier.
Design Review
The Office of Marketing and Communication reviews the specifications for products bearing the Mississippi College name and marks and the design incorporating the name and marks before licensing.
Artwork
Camera-ready artwork of the Mississippi College name and marks is generally provided as part of the License Agreement.
Fees
A percentage of the wholesale value of items sold is charged as a trademark licensing royalty fee. Contact Chief Operating Officer Laura Jackson at ljackson@mc.edu for royalty rate information.
Give-Away Items
Use of the Mississippi College name or marks on items not sold to the public (such as giveaway items or for charity events) requires permission from the Office of Marketing and Communication and may be subject to a use fee. Contact Chief Operating Officer Laura Jackson at ljackson@mc.edu for further information.
Items for Internal Use
Items acquired by a university department or student or other groups solely for internal university use generally do not require a license. Please check with the Office of Marketing and Communication to determine if a license is needed for a specific project.
