Fall 2021 Semester Outlook

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

Thank you.

Thanks to your diligence and commitment, MC is finishing a successful year on our campus and in our classrooms. Our university stayed open, and our community remained physically united because each of you made the effort and the sacrifices that prevented the spread of COVID-19 on our campus.

As a result, our MC community is emerging from the pandemic stronger and more united than ever before. We’re looking forward to the Fall semester with optimism, and we’re excited to share the following plans with you.

MC plans to return to normal operations in Fall 2021.

  • Faculty and students will participate in classes and labs according to the published fall class schedule and through stated teaching delivery methods.
  • Classrooms will be filled to normal capacity.
  • Athletic activities will resume under normal schedules.
  • MC will discontinue the use of the #CampusClear app.
  • MC will allow normal access to all buildings; the use of limited entry and exit points will end.
  • MC will make decisions regarding move-in COVID-19 testing and mask requirements before the beginning of the semester. Decisions will be based on current CDC guidelines and safety protocols.
  • To ensure we can return to normal operations, MC strongly encourages all faculty, staff, and students to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and to continue to follow CDC guidelines during the summer break.

Of course, COVID-19 has taught us to prepare for the unexpected. These plans are based on current conditions and are subject to change. But as of today, we plan to build on the success we experienced this academic year and to move decisively back toward normal life on our campus.

Please check your official MC email for more updates in the weeks ahead.

Thank you again for your strength and courage during the 2020-21 academic year. We’re looking forward to an even brighter year ahead.
