Free Mental Health Care

Dear Colleagues,

With cases down and vaccines available, we’re seeing a light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel. While things are looking up, MC understands that the previous year has taken a toll on all of us and that even the welcome idea of returning to “normal” can also bring new, unforeseen challenges.

As a full-time employee of Mississippi College, we wanted to remind you that you have access to FREE professional and confidential services to address personal, family, life, and work-related issues. This service is called an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and it is available through Reliance Standard, our life insurance vendor. This service includes confidential assessment and referral services for clinical support for employees and their family members. To find out more, click here:

The MC health insurance plan covers mental health benefits for employees. If you are on the platinum or gold plan, there is a $50 co-pay for an office visit with an in-network provider (deductible is waived). If you are on the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), the plan pays 70% after you meet your deductible with an in-network provider. For a list of in-network providers, click here:

Your request for help will be kept completely confidential. If you have questions that this email has not answered, please contact Donna Smith, our human resources director. Donna can connect you to available resources in this area.

We hope you will take advantage of these services if needed and continue to lean on the power of prayer and the support of our Christian community as we continue to navigate our way through these challenges together.
