MC Revises Mask Policy on Clinton Campus

October 28, 2021

Dear MC Family,

With the availability of COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots on the Mississippi College campus for all employees and students, and after carefully considering the latest data from the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), effective immediately, masks are no longer required to be worn on MC’s main campus in Clinton.

Masks are still strongly recommended for MC employees and students who have not been vaccinated and cannot maintain a reasonable physical distance indoors.

Exceptions to this revised mask policy include:

  • Classrooms and Labs. At their discretion, MC faculty may require students to wear masks in their individual classrooms or labs.
  • Upon Request. Many individuals may have health conditions or other family considerations that could require them to continue wearing masks. MC employees and students are asked to be courteous whenever physical distancing measures are not possible and politely comply with any request to wear a mask in their presence.

MC leaders strongly encourage all eligible faculty, staff, and students to get vaccinated against COVID-19. MC offers the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and booster free to all members of the MC family. The vaccine is available at the COVID-19 Testing Clinic in the Nursing Annex. To schedule an appointment to receive a vaccine or booster shot, visit mc.edu/vaccine.

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 information issued by the MSDH and review MC’s COVID-19 protocols.

Thank you.
