Rise Up

October 9, 2020

Revised Academic Calendar • Spring 2021

Dear Student,

Thank you for making the fall semester a success. Thanks to your diligence in sticking with the safety measures MC put into place, our campus has remained safe and open.

The Spring Planning Task Force has been studying the best ways to continue on-campus operations safely next semester. Two concerns include the potential for another wave of COVID-19 infections in early winter, and the risk that travel by students and faculty during breaks could increase the chances of exposure when travelers return to campus.

To address these concerns, MC has revised the academic calendar for the spring 2021 semester.

Revised Academic Calendar • Spring 2021

  • January 13-16 - Staggered Move-in
  • January 15 - Orientation/Advising for New Undergraduate Students
  • January 19 - Classes Begin
  • April 2 – April 5 - Easter Holidays

The following dates will remain the same:

  • January 18 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day will be observed.
  • April 28 - Last Day of Classes
  • April 28 May 5 - Final Exams
  • May 6 (9 a.m.) - Residence Halls Closing (Non-graduating students)
  • May 7 - Commencement
  • May 8 (5 p.m.) - Residence Halls Closing (Graduating students)

Important Changes:

Spring Break has been canceled. We are so sorry, but it’s a necessary change for safety reasons. We will announce a date during the spring semester for “Spring Break Day,” a single day off for students to rest and recharge.

Easter holidays have been extended to include Good Friday and the Monday after Easter.

We understand these schedule changes may require adjusted planning. We appreciate your flexibility as we do all we can to ensure our campus remains safe and open.

Schedules for MC Law and the Physician Assistant program were still in development at the time of this writing. You will receive updates on those program schedules as soon as they are finalized.
