Fall Photos Destinations

You know Mississippi has entered fall when you no longer get sweat stains walking to class. It is officially time to bust out the sweaters, jeans, and flannels. With this weather change it also means it's time to update those profile pictures with your favorite fall photos! You may be wondering where you could get these new and improved photos. Luckily these 5 spots are some of the best fall photo spots in the area!

Train Depot

There's nothing like a sweet fall photo walking across the train tracks holding hands with your best friend. The Train Depot in old town Clinton is the perfect place for some old-time classics. There are lots of warm fall colors to be found on the porch of the depot as well as by the surrounding trees enveloping the tracks. The dense trees surrounding the train tracks could also serve as a more monochrome background for the perfect headshot or candid.

Ridgeland Flower Field

Located just off I-55 and West Jackson Street in Ridgeland is the 3 acre Ridgeland flower field! It is bursting with colors of newly planted flowers scattered throughout! There is a walking trail made of completely recycled material and there is the added bonus of being able to cut as many flowers as desired to bring home with you or to use as a prop for your photos. The wildflower field gives a very open and adventurous photo feel. Grab your favorite fall dress, head out to this field and take those dreamy spinning photos that your heart, an Instagram feed, desires.

The Brick Streets

This location is expected, but it is certainly worth it. The Brick Streets are a prime spot for taking photos this time of year. If you are looking for a more warm and cozy setting it would be best to go after sunset when the bulb lights turn on. Whether walking on the street, sitting in the courtyard, or standing on the sidewalk, this setting provides a homey fall feel for every photo. Take your roommate out there and take some Christmas card photos to pass out to your dorm hall!

The Overlook on the Natchez Trace

The overlook on the Natchez Trace is a perfect place for not only a picnic, but a photoshoot too! Grab your cutest patterned picnic blanket and head out on the Trace to the Rez overlook. You could even snap some cute car photos on the way full of bright green trees and blown back hair. The overlook has a nice field feel to it but the Reservoir behind it adds a nice solid background for photos as well. You can also pose by the trees if you desire a more woodsy look to your photos. This would be a great group location and would be ideal any time of day, but I personally think the sunrise tops all other times. The sun rises right over the reservoir and the view is spectacular. So, if you're an early riser and want some morning sunrise pics, the Overlook is 100% the place for you.

Clinton Nature Center

Clinton Nature Center is a beautiful and close to campus option for photos. The walking paths would be wonderful backgrounds and framing for photos. There is plenty of foliage and the plethora of leaves could be used as props in photos. Whether it's an action shot of you throwing a handful of leaves, or brightly smiling under the trees, the Clinton Nature Center is a prime spot for the granola fall photos of your dreams.

Grab a flannel, your beanie and a few friends, and make some fall photo magic.

Sincerely, MC
