Mississippi College cares deeply about the mental health and wellness of our faculty and staff. It’s perfectly normal for us to experience a range of emotional reactions, especially when the demands of work-life amid a pandemic are coupled with the added demands of caring for our families. Like many of our students, you may find talking with a professional about your stressors can help. Your request for help will be kept completely confidential. If you have questions, please contact Donna Smith, our human resources director, at DSmith@mc.edu.
As a full-time employee of Mississippi College, you can access free professional and confidential services to address personal, family, life, and work-related issues. This service is called an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and it is available through Reliance Standard, our life insurance vendor. This service includes confidential assessment and referral services for clinical support for employees and their family members. To find out more, click here.
The Mississippi College health insurance plan covers mental health benefits for employees. If you are on the platinum or gold plan, there is a $50 co-pay for an office visit with an in-network provider (deductible is waived). If you are on the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), the plan pays 70% after meeting your deductible with an in-network provider. For a list of in-network providers, click here.
