Leadership Applications Fall 2021

The Office of Student Engagement is excited to open applications for leadership positions! The following leadership applications are open from Friday, October 1 to Friday, October 22, 2021:

  • Orientation Leaders (Small Group Leaders & Orientation Behind the Scenes
  • Welcome Week Crew
  • Campus Programming Board Committees
  • Freshman Leadership Initiative Program (FLIP)
  • First Year Experience Team

Orientation Leaders (Small Group Leaders & Orientation Behind the Scenes)

The Orientation team helps plan and put on summer Orientation sessions. Orientation Small Group Leaders (OLs) lead small groups that welcome new students into the MC community. Orientation Leaders Behind the Scenes (OLsBS) work on setting up, tearing down and making sure all of Orientation runs smoothly. The following dates are required for the entire Orientation team:

  • May 4-6, 2022: Orientation Training & Prep
  • May 29-June 8, 2022: Freshmen Orientation Sessions
  • July 23-27, 2022: Freshman Orientation Sessions
  • Spring Semester: 1 hour per week class (a time will be picked to accomodate all members' schedules

Welcome Week Crew

The Welcome Week Crew helps plan and put on both Winter Welcome Week in January and Welcome Week in August. The Crew comes up with event ideas as well as works hard putting on the events during both Welcome Weeks. The following dates are required for Welcome Week:

  • January 6-13, 2022:  Winter Welcome Week & Prep
  • August 14-25, 2022: Prep Week & Welcome Week
  • Spring Semester: 1 hour per week class (a time will be picked to accomodate all members' schedules

Campus Programming Board Committees

The Campus Programming Board puts on a variety of campus events throughout the semester through several different committees. To learn more about the Campus Programming Board Committees, click here. The Board is taking applications for the following committees for Spring 2022:

  • Commuter Programming
  • Cross-Cultural Programming
  • Music & Arts Events
  • Pop-Up Events
  • Special Events
  • Spring Fever Week
  • Student Productions Committee

Freshmen Leadership Initiative Program (FLIP)

FLIP is a very special program open to first-year, freshmen students who want to learn more about servant leadership and work with the Board's Dance Marathon Committee on an incredible event on our campus. More information about FLIP can be found here. FLIP students are required to:

  • Take a 3 hour Servant Leadership class during the spring semester on Tuesday and Thursdays, 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm.
  • Participate in the planning and fundraising for MC Dance Marathon. MCDM will take place on Thursday, April 21, 2022 and participation is required.

First Year Experience (FYE) Team

The FYE Team works on initiatives that are geared toward freshmen and first time transfer students on campus. Members of the FYE team lead MC 101 Groups during the fall semester, host transfer workshops throughout the year, and assist with other efforts to make first year students feel welcome on campus and boost retention of these students.
