Accounting

Designed for students seeking in-depth knowledge of the theory and practice of accounting, this program implements a hands-on curriculum, providing students with the necessary skills to enter the workforce.

Accounting majors at Mississippi College will explore a comprehensive business curriculum that nurtures critical thinking skills, encourages teamwork, and builds writing abilities.

Students will discuss ethical and moral issues, while acquiring management skills in a Christian context. Professors also aim to help students gain an understanding of business challenges from a global perspective, integrating awareness of current events and financial trends.

While many students choose MC’s School of Business each year, they still benefit from small class sizes and personal connections with faculty. MC's faculty offer a wealth of professional experience from the business world, with the majority of them holding a Ph.D. in their field. With a well-executed program and passionate professors, students consistently produce top CPA exam scores in the nation.

Mississippi College’s School of Business is located in Self Hall, a state-of-the-art learning facility. Recently updated with a multi-million dollar renovation, Self Hall features wireless internet throughout and up-to-the-minute stock tickers displayed around the building. Labs are equipped with current computer technology and specialized software for business applications.

Students also get to hear real-life perspectives from the Executive Speaker Series that brings in top-level executives and successful entrepreneurs to campus each semester. Recent speakers have included:
