Mississippi College is the oldest college community in Mississippi, a place where you can be part of a long history and rich traditions. Though not being content with being just part of history, Mississippi College has made history. MC preceded all other institutions in the United States to grant a degree to a woman and was the first institution in the state to offer courses in Chemistry.

Mississippi College was founded in 1826 in the city of Clinton, and was once offered to be 'the' State University. Though the spirit of Mississippi College has remained the same for decades, we are constantly moving forward. We revere our heritage, respect the past and are energized by the future!
