About Me

I am one of MIssissippi College's own and am proud to be returning to my alma mater. I graduated from Mississippi College with a B.S. in Elementary Education in May 2007, and stayed in Clinton for two years as a sixth grade mathematics teacher at Lovett Elementary School. During my second year of teaching, I felt the calling to continue my education so I moved to Oxford, MS, and began my career as a graduate student. During my first year in Oxford, I taught 4th grade mathematics and science at Della Davidson Elementary School and received my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in August 2010.
Given a graduate research assistantship, I began work on my doctorate as a full-time student in August 2010. My work centered around the federally funded grant, Project PrIME, housed at the University of Mississippi, with a goal of improving mathematics teachers' content knowledge and pedagogy. My work with over one hundred teachers in North Mississippi included leading two-week summer institutes and "follow-ups" in their classrooms during the academic year. Upon completion of coursework and successfully defending my dissertation, I received an Ed.D. in Elementary Education in May 2013.

It is my pleasure and honor to return to Mississippi College as professor. I spent five years at MC as an undergraduate student, and they were truly some of the best years of my life. I was involved in Senate and held several offices in Nenamoosha Social Tribe. It is my goal as a professor to help students succeed academically and have an all-around enjoyable experience at Mississippi College - just as I did many years ago!
