BancorpSouth Builds Partnership with Mississippi College School of Business

MC School of Business Dean Marcelo Eduardo visits with BancorpSouth executive Brad Maley at Self Hall on September 10th.

BancorpSouth’s partnership with the Mississippi College School of Business continues to get stronger.

Dating back several years, the ties make BancorpSouth one of the major corporate sponsors of the MC School of Business.

On September 10th, BancorpSouth executive Brad Maley, presented School of Business Dean Marcelo Eduardo with a check to renew that financial commitment for the new academic year.

“We at BancorpSouth are proud to partner with Dr. Eduardo and the MC School of Business for the 2015-16 academic year,” says Maley, North Metro president of the company’s Mid Mississippi Division.

Founded in 1946, the MC School of Business has produced more than 6,000 graduates. Some of the alumni have risen to the top as company CEOs and chief financial officers.

Maley, who works out of BancorpSouth Bank offices in downtown Jackson, likes what he sees on the Clinton campus.

“Mississippi College consistently produces a high quality education to the marketplace through relevant course offerings and a superior staff,” Maley said Thursday. “We look forward to another successful year working with Dr. Eduardo and the entire MC team.”

BancorpSouth supplies financial solutions like checking, savings, investing and planning to help meet the goals of customers. It operates offices at more than 300 locations in nine Southern states, including Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee and Alabama.

Eduardo applauds BancorpSouth leaders for their active role supporting MC School of Business programs.

“BancorpSouth has been a loyal supporter of the School of Business, which has been consistent with the bank’s commitment to business education,” Eduardo said. “We are proud to count BancorpSouth as one of our corporate sponsors and look forward to our continued partnership.”

MC School of Business students welcome the support of corporate sponsors like BancorpSouth.

“They are always really nice about coming and helping with what we need,” says MC junior Mary Stringer. A business administration major from Tylertown, Mary says corporate leaders help with the annual Faith & Ethics series at the School of Business, serve as guest speakers, offer internships and do much more.

“We really appreciate these donations,” says finance major Carol Ann Stevens of Ridgeland.

MC’s School of Business continues to make academic gains that bring greater national recognition to the growing array of programs based at Self Hall.
