Mississippi College Elects New Student Leaders


Mississippi College is welcoming new student leaders from three Southern states and the nation of Bhutan.

Newly elected leaders for 2010-2011 include Randall Miller, the Student Government Association president. An MC debate team member and communication major from Roseland, La., the junior plans to attend law school after he graduates.

Others include: Thomas Ballard, the SGA vice president who's a political science major from Natchez. Chairing the Campus Activities Board will be Julie Hall of Picayune. A business administration major, Hall is the winner of the 2010 Miss MC pageant.

The chairman of the men's affairs board chair is Daniel Jones, an international studies major from Bossier City, La.

Anna Beasley, a communication major from Crystal Springs, chairs the women's affairs board. Thujee Lhendup, a history major from Bhutan in South Asia, will serve as the MC Supreme Court Chief Justice. A junior, Lhendup is a member of the MC debate team.

The newly elected SGA treasurer is junior Rob Taggart, a business administration major from Madison. MC junior Sydney Moak, a biology/pre-med major from Brookhaven, will be the SGA secretary during the next academic year. Baker Carroll, a sophomore from Knoxville, Tenn., will serve as chief of staff.

Nearly 900 MC students voted in the spring elections on the Clinton campus.
