Mississippi College welcomes delegates from institutions, organizations, and learned societies to participate in the inauguration of Dr. Blake Thompson on Friday, March 29.

RSVP Deadline

Please reply by Friday, March 15 to ensure inclusion in the printed program.

Check-In

Check-in for delegates is in Alumni Hall lobby from 8 - 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 - 3 p.m. Check-in will also available at the delegates’ luncheon from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in Anderson Hall on the upper level of the B.C. Rogers Student Center. A coat check area will be available for storing your personal belongings during the ceremony.

Parking

Reserved parking will be held for delegates in the north parking lot of the Baptist Healthplex.

Parking is also available in the garage located west of the coliseum and south of the football field. Shuttle service will be offered to and from the B.C. Rogers Student Center from 8 a.m. - noon and   1 - 7 p.m.

Hospitality Area

A staffed hospitality area will be available in Alumni Hall gym from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. 

Luncheon

Delegates, along with a guest, are invited to attend the delegates’ luncheon from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in Anderson Hall on the upper level of the B.C. Rogers Student Center.

Regalia

Delegates are requested to provide their own academic regalia for the ceremony. If you do not have a cap and gown, please contact the institution or organization you are representing so that they may provide you with the necessary academic regalia.

For delegates attending the luncheon, a coat check for academic regalia will be provided. Delegates can also drop off regalia in the delegate assembly area located in Alumni Hall. 

Processional Robing

Delegates assemble for robing at 3 p.m. in Alumni Hall. A secure area will be provided for robing and personal belongings that will be staffed during all inauguration events. 

Inauguration Ceremony 

Line up begins at 3:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall gym. Each delegate will have an assigned position in the procession according to the year of founding of his/her institution. Faculty marshals will escort delegates from Alumni Hall at 3:45 p.m. to prepare for the procession. The inauguration ceremony will start promptly at 4 p.m. MC staff members will be available to assist you.

Community Reception 

Following the ceremony, we invite all guests to join us at a reception at the Piazza/Jennings Courtyard. 

Inclement Weather

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held at First Baptist Church Clinton.
