Mississippi College's Junior/Senior Boot Camp won't come with a tough Army drill sergeant screaming in the faces of young recruits.

Instead, the three-hour sessions sponsored by MC's Career Services Office on Wednesday, April 8 will give MC students a crash course on job search and networking strategies, interview training, and business dining etiquette.

Junior/Senior Boot Camp begins at noon on the second floor of the B.C. Rogers Student Center with a free, sit-down lunch where students will be given tips on luncheon protocol - from proper eating skills to advice regarding conversations at the dinner table. Leslie Ann Petro from Horne-LLP training in Jackson will conduct the session. Another session will be presented by Jeff Rimes, a Jackson attorney who will talk about networking and when to consider graduate or professional school. Students may attend all or part of the event.

"Getting a job in this economy requires a substantial amount of advance planning, preparation and networking. Along with academic preparation we want our students to be well-equipped for the real world too," said Karen Lindsey-Lloyd, director of MC Career Services.

The event is open only to currently enrolled Junior and Seniors. Students need to register to attend by signing up at www.mc.edu/career/events. The office can also be reached at career-services@mc.edu or 601.925.7717.
