MC Teams Up for Faith Night at Memphis Redbirds Game

Mississippi College is teaming up with the minor leagues for Faith Night at AutoZone Park in Memphis July 29.

The game pits the Memphis Redbirds vs. Fresno on that date. It is the last of a series of three MC-sponsored Faith Nights that combines pro baseball with the excitement of a Christian concert.

Seeing some future Major League Baseball stars in action plus a Christian concert should draw thousands from towns in North Mississippi and across state lines in Tennessee and Arkansas.

The first MC-supported Faith Night kicked off in Birmingham June 10 when the Birmingham Barons took the field. The next event saw the Mississippi Braves play the Mobile Bay Bears on June 13. That game and concert at Trustmark Park in Pearl was sold out with more than 7,000 fans on hand.

At the games, MC admissions counselors supply brochures and tell fans about their 4,000-student Christian university in Clinton, the second oldest Baptist university in America.

The Faith Nights are also sponsored by Third Coast Sports, the leading authority in church marketing and event planning for sports teams. The events began with the minor leagues, but now have advanced to the majors. Along the way, many of the players give their testimonies about the power of their faith.
