Mississippi College awards first Pete Evans Scholarship to Matt Alexander
Chain and Evans were roommates at MC in the late 1940s on the fourth floor at Chrestman Hall and began a deep friendship that spanned decades. Evans, who served as a pastor in Kentucky and Mississippi, was the minister who presided at the marriage ceremony for Bobby and Betty Chain in 1967.
On Wednesday, the Chains returned to MC for a luncheon on the Clinton campus to meet the first recipient of the William F. "Pete" Evans Scholarship and rekindle fond memories with members of the Evans family.
