Meet

Blake Thompson

Dr. Blake Thompson received his Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and an executive master’s from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. The 44-year-old Mississippian also received his Bachelor and Master of Sciences degrees in pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Mississippi where he serves on the institution’s Board of Visitors.

Dr. Thompson’s wife Jana is an honors graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and has practiced pharmacy in several settings. Blake and Jana are both from Rienzi, Mississippi and still own and operate a small blueberry farm. They currently reside in Clinton, Mississippi with their son, Grey, and two daughters, Sarah Blake and Cate.

Delegates

Delegates Luncheon

All delegates are invited to join Blake Thompson for a private luncheon prior to the ceremony. The luncheon will be held in Anderson Hall in the B.C. Rogers Student Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. Any special dietary requirements may be noted on the Delegate RSVP form.

Academic Attire

All delegates in the academic procession are expected to wear academic attire. If you do not have a cap and gown, please contact the school or organization you are representing so that they may provide you with the necessary academic regalia.

Robing & Inauguration Ceremony

Robing will begin at 3:00 p.m. A secure room will be provided for robing and personal belongings that will be staffed during all inauguration events. Each delegate will have an assigned position in the procession according to the year of founding of his/her institution. We ask that you be robed no later than 3:15 p.m. so that we can assure the appropriate order of the procession. Mississippi College staff members will be available to assist you. The Inaugural Procession will form at 3:30 p.m. and begin the processional at 4:00 p.m.

Campus Tours

Campus tours for delegates and special guests will be available at 1:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Delegates interested in attending a campus tour should indicate on Delegate RSVP form the tour they plan to attend.
