MC Classes Resume Jan. 19 at First Baptist Church Jackson

Mississippi College's evening classes at First Baptist Church Jackson will resume Tuesday January 19 after a shutdown due to the city's water crisis.

The MC classes were unable to meet in recent days after this winter's cold snap caused at least 140 water breaks in the capital city. As of Thursday afternoon, the city of Jackson was still working on about 30 breaks in the water lines.

The water crisis also led to the closing of the MC School of Law in downtown Jackson for a couple of days. The law school reopened Thursday.

Emily Diffenderfer, secretary of the MC Department of Psychology and Counseling, said she will answer questions regarding the evening classes at the Jackson church. About twelve classes for MC graduate students had to be canceled.

The church should be open for business Monday. Diffenderfer can be reached at 601.925.3841 or Diffende@mc.edu.
