Ticket Sales Brisk for Rudy Giuliani Visit to MC

Rudy Giuliani

Mississippi College’s ticket deadline is March 21 for people wishing to hear former New York City Rudy Giuliani speak at the university’s 2016 scholarship dinner.

With nearly 500 tickets sold by early March, officials say it’s best to avoid a last minute rush to make a purchase. No tickets will be sold at the door prior to the scholarship banquet on the evening of March 29.

Giuliani is expected to discuss America’s hotly contested race for the White House, the growing threat of terrorism worldwide, domestic issues and other timely topics during his Mississippi College visit.

The New Yorker will conduct a news conference on the Clinton campus, and speak to students before addressing hundreds of guests at the scholarship program. The dinner at Anderson Hall in the B.C. Rogers Student Center begins at 6 p.m.

More than $2 million has been raised at the Christian university’s scholarship dinners since 2008. In recent years, Mississippi College’s signature event attracted prominent speakers like former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and retired physician Dr. Ben Carson. Bush, Huckabee and Carson were among this year’s crop of Republican presidential candidates before recently suspending their campaigns.

Giuliani received wide acclaim as one of the most effective chief executives in modern American history for his bravery and leadership during the terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001. He worked as a U.S. attorney who successfully battled organized crime before serving as NYC mayor.

Mississippi College leaders anticipate Anderson Hall will be packed for the March 29 scholarship dinner. Individual tickets to the spring event cost $200 each.
