Assistant/Associate Professor of Cell Biology/Genetics - Department of Biology

The Biological Science department at Mississippi College, a small liberal arts institution, has an outstanding pre-medical program with approximately 300 undergraduate and 100 graduate students.The department is looking for an assistant or associate professor whose area of expertise is Cell Biology/Genetics.The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Cell Biology or Genetics. While teaching is the priority, involving undergraduates in research is expected.Applicants must be of Christian faith.

INBRE Grant money of up to &75,000 may be available to start your research.

The Biology facility has outstanding research equipment for student research, e.g., CO2 incubator and biosafety hood for culture of mammalian cell lines, florescent microscopes, flow cytometer, anaerobic microbiology chamber, thermal cyclers.The department emphasizes collegiality and fosters a low stress work place.

Founded in 1826, Mississippi College, Clinton, MS, is a private, comprehensive University with over 80 undergraduate majors, more than 50 graduate areas of study and approximately 4500 students. It is affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention. Clinton MS is a small quiet community 10 miles west of Jackson, MS.
