Chair and Program Director - Physician Assistant Studies Program

As our current Chair and Program Director is retiring, The Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Mississippi College is able to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced PA to lead our unique program.

The Program

The Physician Assistant Program at Mississippi College is a 30-month program of study leading to a Master of Science in Medicine degree. The maximum class size is 36. The primary mission of the Mississippi College Physician Assistant Program is to educate and train students to provide high-quality medical care for the people of Mississippi and the nation as members of the healthcare team. We enjoy a collaborative relationship with the University of Mississippi Medical School.We are home to a modern medical education facility, a state-of-the-art cadaver lab, and a new medical simulation center. We also prepare our students for service at international clinical rotation sites, if desired.

The Position

Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A minimum of five years of clinical experience and three additional years of academic (or health-related teaching and/or administrative experience is required. Minimum requirements also include current or emeritus NCCPA certification and a Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field. All employees of Mississippi College must be of the Christian faith.

The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and a competitive benefit package is offered including medical, dental, 401(k), and more. We offer an opportunity for clinical practice as well. The candidate should also possess a commitment to continued professional development and scholarly work. Importantly, our program has just undergone a self-study report and site visit process for another continuing accreditation cycle.
