Assistant/Associate Professor of French, Linguistics, and Culture - Department of Modern Languages

The Department of Modern Languages at Mississippi College is seeking an Assistant/ Associate Professor of French, Linguistics, and Culture. The department would prefer that the candidate have the requisite credentials in all areas. Innovative approaches to communicative language teaching, demonstrated excellence in teaching pedagogy, knowledge and use of technology in the classroom (e.g. digital pedagogies) are essential.

The ideal candidate will teach courses in the French language curriculum (first year, second year, and various advanced-level courses), courses in English in Linguistics or Culture that support the Language, Writing, and Linguistics majors, the TESOL minor and certificate, and the university core course, MLG 205 Cross Cultural Understanding. Other responsibilities include a full-time teaching load of four courses per semester, student advising, directing the study abroad programs to France, department and university service, and community service. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to transition to the chair position by the second year.
