Bass Fishing

Take part in competitive fishing through the FLW National Guard College tournaments

Our Goal

Our goal is to educate the anglers so that they can go to any lake in the country, look at the time of year and fish cycle, and be able to use the correct baits and presentations necessary to catch fish.

The Club

Our Club membership offers students of Mississippi College the opportunity to attend seminars, both on and off campus, that are conducted by both local and national professional anglers. Club members also have the opportunity to fish at the year-end celebrations at Providence Hill Farm as well as many other opportunities to fish around the Jackson area. This level of membership is for the student that wants to increase their knowledge of the sport of fishing and bond with others who are passionate about the sport and have a good time. Club membership is only $30 per semester.

The Team

For those wishing to take their skills to the next level, Mississippi College offers a Team membership. As a team member, students receive the same opportunities as the Club members along with the opportunity to compete in the FLW College Fishing Series. In preparing Team members to fish in tournaments, they will also receive four eight hour days of fishing at Providence Hill Farm with local professionals. Skills such as running a trolling motor, reading depth finders, and using techniques necessary in order to be competitive will all be practiced on these days. Some of the lakes we have competed on are Lake Okeechobee in Florida, Lake Seminole in Georgia, Guntersville Lake in Alabama, Santee Cooper Lakes in South Carolina, and Pickwick Lake in Alabama. Team membership is $250 per semester.

Providence Hill Farm

Providence Hill Farm's featured lake is 150 acres with a partially surrounding sea wall and is stocked with F1 bass weighing up to 12 pounds.
