As a marketing major, you’ll take courses in topics such as:

- Consumer behavior
- Marketing communications

The curriculum focuses on engaging students with marketing theory and practice in all sectors of the economy. Students explore the stages of successfully developing and introducing a product to the public, from market research to brand positioning. With this foundation, graduates will possess excellent preparation for marketing management roles.
While building your marketing toolset, you’ll also explore a comprehensive business curriculum that nurtures critical thinking skills, encourages teamwork and builds your writing abilities. You’ll discuss ethical and moral issues, while acquiring management skills in a Christian context. And you’ll gain understanding of business issues from a global perspective, along with current events and financial trends.
Choose Your Focus
As a marketing major, you can pursue an additional career track in Advertising and Promotion, Healthcare Marketing, or Entrepreneurship by completing an additional 12 hours of credit in your chosen area of concentration.

How You’ll Learn
Mississippi College’s School of Business is located in Self Hall, a state-of-the-art learning facility. Recently updated with a multi-million dollar renovation, Self Hall features building-wide wireless internet and up-to-the-minute stock tickers displayed throughout the building. Classrooms offer stadium-style seating and high-tech learning tools. Labs are equipped with up-to-date computer technology and specialized software for business applications.

Sometimes the best way to learn is by doing. MC School of Business students gain experience through real-world problem-solving, collaborating on in-class projects and addressing challenges modeled after real business case.

In today’s business environment, travel experience and an international outlook are important. Build on your business training with a global outlook at MC. Mississippi College offers study abroad programs in Costa Rica, France, London, Austria, Seoul and Spain. You can take classes and earn credit while strengthening your language skills and broadening your cultural horizons.
Internships in Marketing
Marketing majors at MC are competitive candidates for internships, giving students great opportunities to build their resumes and their business skills. Recently, students have interned at Celia Barrett Design, LLC, Trustmark Bank, Mangia Bene (a local restaurant), Banana Republic, the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Community Programs, the Mississippi Development Authority, Baptist Health Systems, Lindy Fishing Tackle, Home of Grace (a Drug and Alcohol Recover Program), Plastic and Hand Surgery Associates, and Jackson Academy.

Delta Mu Delta
Mississippi College’s business students get plenty of opportunities to shine. One option is Delta Mu Delta, the national honor society for outstanding business students. Delta Mu Delta encourages scholastic achievement in business and recognizes high-performing students with honors and awards.
Where You’ll Go
MC marketing graduates are headed to great futures. For example, Shawn Harris and Brooke Meeks, who are now employed at Trustmark Bank. Or Elizabeth Lynch, who went on to complete an MBA at MC and is now employed with the Jackson Heart Clinic PA. Each graduated within the past five years.
