MC Alums Gather in Oxford and Greenwood


Mississippi College alumni are gathering for two important February meetings in Oxford and Greenwood.

The annual meeting for alums in several North Mississippi counties will be on Tuesday Feb. 10 at the Oxford home of Bill and Carole Dye on St. Andrews Road. MC President Lee Royce, Vice President for Advancement Bill Townsend, Alumni Affairs Director Ross Aven and retired MC administrator Doc Quick will be among the speakers.

Another major event for graduates of Baptist-affiliated MC is a gathering of MC graduates who are doctors and dentists.

The group will gather at the Alluvian Hotel in Greenwood Feb. 20-21 for the first meeting of the Mississippi College Medical and Dental Alumni Association. The guest speaker is Dr. Stan Baldwin, dean of the MC School of Science and Mathematics and adjunct professor at the University of Mississippi Medical School.

The welcoming session begins at 5 p.m. Feb. 20 with dinner to be served at the Alluvian's Giardina's Restaurant at 7:30 p.m. Breakfast will be served prior to 9 a.m. Saturday Feb. 21, with an organizational meeting to follow.

Dr. Eddie Donahoe of Indianola is chairman of the MC Medical and Dental Association Alumni Association. Donahoe and Baldwin will lead the alumni meetings in Greenwood.
