Mississippi College Hosts Career Day 2011

America’s sour economy is showing signs of improvement in the new year. And that’s got to be good news for hundreds of Mississippi College students expected to participate in the university’s annual Career Day.

The Office of Career Services will host Career Day on Tuesday, February 15 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Anderson Hall in the B.C. Rogers Student Center.  The employer participants include hospitals, financial institutions, schools, accounting firms, government agencies, and many other representative industries.

The Office of Career Services is working hard to make this year’s event another success.  Students can receive help with their resumes during Career Day in the Rapid Resume Review room.  The event will also feature a business center sponsored by Digitec where students can edit and print their resumes for Career Day employers.

The Career Services Employer Partner program sponsors are Southern Farm Bureau and Fast Enterprises.  Additional corporate sponsors include Community Bank, Eubank and Betts, and Haddox, Reid, Burkes and Calhoun.

Karen Lindsey-Lloyd, the director of retention and career services, says, “In this economy, students cannot wait until their senior year to explore career options. Career Day offers a chance to meet real employers and begin smart conversations with them about their future.”

Employers have until January 25th to register for Career Day.  For more information, contact the office of Career Services at 601.925.7717 or go to www.mc.edu/career/.
