Tori Langworthy and Kaitlin McCarty Join Mississippi College Admissions Team

Mississippi College admissions counselors Kaitlin McCarty of Flowood and Tori Langworthy of Clinton joined the team in Nelson Hall in June.

Tori Langworthy and Kaitlin McCarty feel truly blessed to join Mississippi College’s admissions team.

For the two newest members of the MC Hall of Fame, full-time jobs in the basement of Nelson Hall seem to be a perfect fit.

Friends from the MC Class of 2016, Tori and Kaitlin bring enormous strengths to the position. They love all things Blue & Gold, are talented communicators and know how to recruit prospective students. They’re both hard workers driven to succeed.

“We continue to raise the bar with new team members like Tori and Kaitlin,” says admissions director Kyle Brantley. “Both have extensive roots and recent experiences that will serve them effectively in their representation of Mississippi College and their recruitment of students.”

A Clintonian, Langworthy, 21, will attract future students in South Alabama, Florida and Clinton schools.

Tori began work in early June with a delegation of Mississippi College people warmly welcoming incoming freshmen at a two-day orientation. The team will gear up to do the same again July 7-8 and later on at a few more sessions this summer.

“I never imagined after growing up in Clinton that I would be working here after graduation,” Langworthy said. “But it has been the biggest blessing.”

A May 2012 graduate of Clinton High, Tori plunged into a variety of activities once she became an MC Choctaw in her hometown.

A member of the Laguna Social Tribe, Langworthy served as the tribe’s Follies chair, then as vice president and president. She worked in the university’s Athletic Department and was an MC Homecoming Maid of Honor.

The list of honors goes on for the stellar communication graduate at the 5,200-student Baptist-affiliated university. Tori’s heart is really in it as she pitches MC’s academic offerings – from electrical engineering to nursing, business, Christian Studies and education. “I love what we can offer students, and all the opportunities that are available here,” Langworthy said. “This truly is an incredible university.”

Admissions colleague Kaitlyn McCarty is equally passionate about her alma mater in Clinton.

A public relations/communication major with a minor in Spanish, Kaitlin is staying busy on the recruiting trail. Phone calls, emails, messages on social media, visits to high schools and going to college recruiting fairs all go with it. Her local recruiting territory includes Terry High, Central Hinds Academy & Hillcrest. She’s also signed up to cover the Mississippi Delta, North Louisiana and Texas.

“I am sincerely looking forward to investing in the next generation of Choctaws as they transition into the family that is Mississippi College,” says McCarty, a Northwest Rankin High graduate.

Running into a McCarty family member at Mississippi College is really a pretty easy thing to do. During the 2015-16 academic year, Kaitlin, Jackson, Molly, Mary Ann and Austin McCarty were all enrolled at Mississippi College. One bunch of the family is from Flowood, while their cousins hail from Meridian.

Like Tori, Kaitlin is a familiar face on the Clinton campus.

The 2015 Homecoming Queen, a leader with the Campus Activities Board, and a member of the Swannanoa Social Tribe as an undergraduate, Kaitlin McCarty steps into her newest assignment with tons of energy. “I am so excited to take on the job with passion and purpose, believing in the incredible university which I represent.”
