Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership - Department of Teacher Education and Leadership
Mississippi College invites applications for a non-tenure track, Assistant Professor position in our graduate Educational Leadership program housed in the Teacher Education and Leadership Department. The position has a starting date of August 2020, and successful candidates must possess a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership prior to employment. The faculty position will have primary responsibility for teaching and supervising Educational Leadership candidates from M.Ed., Ed.S., and Ed.D. graduate programs.
The faculty member will also participate in monitoring field experiences and internships of candidates, joining thesis and dissertation committees, advising educational leadership candidates, and preparing candidates for licensure from entry to completion of the educational leadership programs. Administrator experience in P-12 schools along with a willingness to work on accreditation at both state and national levels is a requirement for this faculty position. A current Mississippi Educator license in the area of school administration is preferred. Faculty members are expected to possess an appreciation for the mission of Mississippi College.
The licensure, educator preparation programs in the Teacher Education and Leadership Department at Mississippi College are currently accredited by National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and is currently undergoing continuing accreditation from Council for Accreditation of Educator Programs (CAEP). Since all faculty participate in program assessment, experience with the CAEP standards and accreditation process along with Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) is preferred.
