Director of Career Development - Office of Student Success

The Director of Career Development is an exempt position that oversees all aspects of the Office of Career Development and works to accomplish the department's primary mission, which is to help students and alumni identify career opportunities and find meaningful employment. This individual must possess exceptional leadership abilities, as well as interpersonal, communication, advising, listening, technical, writing and editing skills. Must have prior experience in an academic or business setting. The Director must effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the academic institution, to include students, parents, employers, departmental staff, and administrators. Requires a highly motivated, energetic, creative, cooperative individual who is able to manage all office duties and student workers, as well as work with minimal supervision and with a variety of people groups.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 2 years working with students
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a business or academic environment
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess a passion for career development and for working with students
  • Ability to utilize new and emerging technologies, including social media and career development software
  • Commitment to the Christian-based mission of Mississippi College
